One of Riptide's most intriguing private sector contracts is in support of the LiveTV project. LiveTV provides in-flight entertainment systems for single-aisle commercial aircraft, including live in-seat satellite television, XM Satellite Radio, wireless data link service, cabin surveillance, and internet services. This is the airline industry's only real-time, at-home styled entertainment experience.
Riptide currently provides embedded support for the airborne elements of the LiveTV system, by converting an airborne box to the Linux operating system. This includes operating system support, task planning and management, and software application development and maintenance. This is another example of Riptide's proficiency for working with other teams to integrate new technology into existing systems.
