Description
This position will be responsible for making content and code modifications/additions to existing or new systems utilizing J2EE. The developer needs to possess proficient programming skills in Java including familiarity with data types, syntax and control structures, plus a broad knowledge of all related skills in web development areas. This person should have an understanding of Web Server and Application Server technologies. They should also be capable of debugging and unit testing code along with creating/maintaining build and deployment scripts.
Qualifications
- Strong Internet technologies background including HTTP, SSL, XML, TCP/IP, Web Services, JSP, Servlets, CSS, etc.
- Knowledge of Java Frameworks ( Spring, Struts, Hibernate, etc. ), JUnit, ANT
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Requirements analysis and design abilities combined with strong development skills.
- Ability to deliver on time according to requirements and business needs
- Attention to detail
- Ability to identify problems and opportunities and champion solutions
- Ability to complete tasks on time and within budget in a climate of frequent change
- Ability to perform effectively with minimal management oversight
Experience Required
- 3+ years of full-time/hands-on Java development experience with a proven ability to develop robust commercial applications
- 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience.
- 3+ years of Object-Oriented Analysis, Design and Development experience.
- Experience in web site development using content management desirable.
- Experience with Application Servers (JBoss, Websphere, Web Logic) is required. Experience with the JBoss Application Server is strongly desired.
- Hands on software modeling experience (e.g. UML) and application of standard methodologies (e.g. RUP).
- J2EE experience (including Entity and Session EJBs, MDBs, JMS, JDBC etc) is strongly desired.
- Experience with Relational Databases and SQL is required including development of multi-tier solutions.
- Experience with JDBC, OOA, OOD, UML and use case analysis a plus
- Experience in developing applications for Army simulation and training desirable
- Windows and Linux / Unix experience is required. UNIX / Linux shell scripting experience is desired.
Education Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
