Multi-tier Architecture

Multi-tier architecture (often referred to as n-tier architecture) is a client-server architecture in which an application is executed by more than one distinct software agent.

AAR Application Screen Shot

Riptide Software, Inc. specializes in distributed, large-scale, multi-tiered architectures in the solutions we develop. Almost every software solution we have provided to our customers in our 10+ years of developing software has incorporated well-defined, industry standard tiers. At Riptide Software we understand the importance of establishing well defined abstraction layers that allow a delivered software system to grow, to expand, and to adapt to changing customer requirements during its lifetime.

For java-based solutions we have developed several very large enterprise java bean (EJB) solutions using IBM Websphere, JBOSS, and BEA Systems application servers. Furthermore we understand the inner workings of java and the intrinsic issues surrounding the AWT event queue, and how designing abstraction layers going beyond what Sun provide can prevent runtime concurrency issues at design time, not after software delivery.
